Certificate of Registration

How quickly can we get married?

Simply the Ceremony

To be married involves a simple declaration of two people to be united in marriage, in the presence of two witnesses and a licenced Officiant who will solemnize the marriage.

A valid marriage licence must be obtained in advance from any city hall or local municipal office. The licence is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. After the vows have been made, the licence must be completed and signed by the couple, witnesses, and the licenced Officiant. The duly signed licence is then forwarded to the Registrar of Ontario (or the province in which you have been married).
