My Background

My name is Rev. John Gordon (Gord) Menzies. 

I’m a husband, father and grandfather, living in Richmond Hill. I have been very happily married for nearly 40 years and we have two fabulous, happily married daughters and one amazing granddaughter; Brides, you are in good hands!

Our family traditions span both cultural and religious traditions that reflect the mosaic that is Canada and our lives.

All are welcome in our home without boundaries or biases.

Becoming an Officiant

As I neared retirement age, daughter #2, a former event producer and occasional “Day-of Wedding Consultant” who has seen her fair share of ceremonies – (good and bad!), suggested that I would be a great officiant . . . and so in 2021, I became an Ordained Metaphysical Minister, and Licensed by the Registrar General under the Marriage Act of the Province of Ontario.

I have been granted the power to join in marriage, any two people who wish to declare their love for each other and desire to be married, no matter what you believe or do not believe.

I would be so pleased to work with you to plan your special day and help fulfill your every wish to celebrate your wedding in the fashion that you desire.
